Tea Fairy
1 1/2"x1"x1"
2017
The fairy in this glass dome was constructed using HO scale (1:87), model railroad, polystyrene, body parts. This figure was assembled by selecting various body parts, gluing them together and painting the body with acrylics. Tiny wings are created by stamping a wing pattern onto laminated sheets of cellophane and cutting them out. A full sized tea bag was disassembled and pieces used to create the tiny tea bag. Tea granules from the full sized bag were then inserted into the tiny tea bag. Moss and a miniature tea cup were adhered to the base and then the fairy was glued to the rim of the tea cup. Clear resin was colored with a mixture of brown and ocher pastel dust and poured into the tea cup. Finally, the glass dome was sealed on top of the base.
