Lifecast 16"x8"x6" 2016 This life cast was part of a group project where four campers that were interested in life casting came together to help cast each other. I helped organize the group and arrange times for casting. Once together, the group would help prep the materials and the group member who was being cast. While casting, the campers would apply the alginate, stop any leaks and talk to the person being cast. Group members would also apply the plaster bandages for the mother mold and help clean up afterward. Once the mold was finished, the person who the mold was of would take over. They would help mix the resin and pour it into the finished mold. When the resin had set, the piece would be removed from the mold and the camper would set to work giving the surface a faux bronze look. This look was accomplished by first spray painting the piece black then layering bronze, clear and copper spray paints. When the camper was satisfied with the look, the piece would be sealed with clear, satin spray paint.
