This was a great project for students both in the classroom and remote! We reviewed warm and cool colors and the students were told that if they choose a warm dragon egg, then their dragon eye would be cool colors and vise versa. They then drew their eggs and used a repeated pattern to create scales. Students used watercolors and either the wet on wet or wet on dry technique to add their warm or cool colors to the egg. The next step was drawing the eye and coloring it with markers. The final step was the most fun! Students glued the eye to the back of the egg and then ripped the paper to expose the eye and make it look like their dragon egg was hatching.
