Common Bluebottle Fairy Specimen
6"x6"x2 1/2"
2017
The fairy in this work was constructed using HO scale (1:87), model railroad, polystyrene body parts. This figure was assembled by selecting various body parts, gluing them together and painting the body with acrylics. Wings were created by using real butterfly wings found at an attic sale and adding glitter. The wings are then adhered to the body. A pin is run through the body and into the foam core backing of the frame to resemble an entomology display.
