2017
This piece is a ceramic figure, painted to resemble bronze with copper feathers. After the figure was sculpted, fired and painted, I cut copper foil strips into feather shapes. Using a metal burnisher, I added feather texture by pressing it into the copper. The feathers were then adhered to the ceramic figure using plumber's epoxy. The entire piece was then painted with a black, acrylic wash.
