Van Gogh Inspired Ultimate Bedroom Challenge

After I show the students Van Gogh's "Bedroom at Arles", we discuss what makes a room a bedroom.  We then look at a few real life ultimate bedrooms and talk about what kinds of things we would put in our bedroom if we could.  Students are told that their Ultimate Bedrooms must be constructed using construction paper and have a bed, a door and a theme.  Decisions as to color, building techniques, and bedroom contents are completely up to the students.  Once their bedrooms are finished, they use it as a set for a stop motion animation.
